R&D Product Development Engineer 

Location: Terrassa, Barcelona (Spain).

MISSION:

Responsible for the technical development of metal sheet products based on cool stamping process technology, according to specifications and requirements established in the Customer Specification, achieving the target in cost, quality and timing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure product development compliant with applicable customer requirements ensuring that the product meets the requirements regarding materials, components and customer standards.
2. Lead internally the project in terms of product development and validation
3. Carry out CAE simulations: Thermal, Mechanical and CFD simulations.
4. Perform, follow and evaluate the Design Validation (DV) and Product Validation (PV) according to Customer requirements within project time.
5. Manage external test linked to the DV/PV, manage suppliers, and lead time for the PPAP validation before SOP.
6. Responsible of Design FMEA, according to technical customer requirements and lesson learned.
7. Participate on Innovation projects as team member or as team leader.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

• Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree is a must.
• Knowledge on CAE software (2-3 years). Abaqus and Ansa Knowledge is and advantage.
• Basics in heat transfer, linear dynamics and CFD.
• Experience as Product engineer managing Development Designs and Product Validations (2-3 years in industrial sector as product engineer).
• Fluent English.

Preferred

• 3 years in automotive sector as product engineer in product design development.
• Advance knowledge in heat transfer, linear dynamics and CFD. Preferred experience on  products as battery cooling system, heat exchanger, thermal management…  
• Dealing with customer and suppliers skills.
• Fluent German
